The take
A Hindu temple on Yishun Avenue 3 known as the Pink Temple of Singapore, moved here in the 1990s after the Mandai site was acquired. Poojas run morning and evening, with a break from noon, so plan around it.
Good to know
Daily poojas include Kaala Santhi Poojai at 6.30am and Saayarakchai in the evening
Festival programmes, such as Navarathiri in October, are posted on the temple's site
Finding it: Sree Maha Mariamman Temple, 251 Yishun Avenue 3, Singapore 769061; the temple is open mornings and evenings, with a break from noon
