Mandai is five wildlife parks on one ridge, split across Mandai Wildlife EAST (80 Mandai Lake Road: Zoo, River Wonders, Night Safari, Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST) and WEST (20 Mandai Lake Road: Bird Paradise, Rainforest Wild Adventure WEST). The Zoo is still the one to beat — open habitats, orangutans overhead, 8.30am–6pm. Night Safari is daily 6pm–midnight, last entry 11.15pm (mandai.com, September 2026); walking trails and the Safari Adventure Tram start at 7pm and the tram runs until 11.20pm, and you must pick a time slot. Rainforest Wild Adventure is the fifth park: 9am–6pm, last entry 5pm, two zones, adventure activities in the ticket. River Wonders is daily 9am–6pm, last entry 5pm (mandai.com) — pandas at Pavilion Capital Giant Panda Forest, Amazon River Quest boat ride, Once Upon a River presentation (book a seat from two hours before). Amazon River Quest is closed 31 August–30 September 2026; the Mekong River and Yangtze River exhibits are partially closed (mandai.com/en/announcements). House of Kai Kai & Jia Jia is closed for renovation 14 September–30 November 2026 — panda-forest entrance relocated beside the current door; a temporary Panda Shop pop-up inside the exhibit runs 8.45am–6pm; the food kiosk outside moves beside Mama Panda Kitchen (mandai.com). African Penguin exhibit closed 31 August–30 November. Rainforest Wild EAST: Lemur Land and Split Rock Summit closed until 1pm daily 21–25 September. Sunbear and the Leopard are open again (mandai.com/en/announcements). Bird Paradise at WEST is 17 hectares, eight walk-through aviaries, more than 3,500 birds from 400-plus species — daily 9am–6pm, last entry 5pm (mandai.com). In-park shuttle is in the ticket. Presentations at PropNex Sky Amphitheatre change; check the Mandai App the morning you go. Penguin Cove Restaurant inside is 11am–5.30pm, last order 5pm, if you are already in the park.
Do not book all five. Zoo + Night Safari is the classic long day. Rainforest Wild if you want canopy walks more than another zoo loop. Bird Paradise is the WEST daylight combo. River Wonders if pandas are non-negotiable — Amazon River Quest at River Wonders is closed for maintenance 31 August–30 September 2026. Mandai Boardwalk is the free 3.3 km public walk along Upper Seletar Reservoir, skirting River Wonders and the Zoo: daily 7am–7pm, last entry 6pm, about 70–85 minutes, wheelchair- and stroller-friendly (mandai.com/en/mandai-boardwalk). Two doors: Kingfisher's Cave via Mandai Wildlife EAST, Tree Frog's Hangout to the left of River Wonders. Pets, skating and cycling are not allowed. It is not a park ticket and it is not a substitute for the Zoo. Arrive at opening. Animals are active, queues are not.
The M2 Khatib Bus from Khatib MRT (NS14) Exit A is the painless way in: $2.50, every 15 minutes, first bus 8.30am, last from Khatib 11.40pm (last from Mandai Wildlife EAST midnight). Children under 7 ride free. Contactless only — EZ-Link, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple/Google/Samsung Pay; no cash, no chip-and-PIN (mandai.com). Rides between EAST and WEST inside Mandai are free if you tell the captain you are changing parks. M1, the free EAST–WEST shuttle, runs about every 15 minutes during park hours from 15 May 2026 (mandai.com); it is not a substitute for M2 from Khatib.
Getting there
M2 Khatib Bus from Khatib MRT (NS14) Exit A passenger pick-up, $2.50, 8.30am–11.40pm, every 15 minutes (20 minutes after 11pm). Stops at Mandai Wildlife WEST (Bird Paradise) and EAST (Zoo / Night Safari / River Wonders / Mandai Boardwalk). Last bus from EAST midnight. Public buses: 138 from Ang Mo Kio (NS16) or Springleaf (TE4); 927 from Choa Chu Kang (NS4). M1 is the free EAST–WEST hop inside the reserve, about every 15 minutes in park hours. Boardwalk doors: Kingfisher's Cave at EAST, Tree Frog's Hangout left of River Wonders — first M2 is 8.30am, so a 7am boardwalk start is a taxi. Taxi surcharge from the parks 1pm–11.59pm. Factor 45–70 minutes from town. First M2 will not make Zoo opening at 8.30am — taxi if the orangutans at the door are the point.
Best time
Zoo 8.30am opening (last entry 5pm) River Wonders, Rainforest Wild and Bird Paradise 9am (last entry 5pm); Lemur Land and Split Rock Summit at Rainforest Wild EAST stay closed until 1pm daily through 25 September. Mandai Boardwalk is 7am–7pm, last entry 6pm — a 7am start is a taxi; M2's first bus is 8.30am (mandai.com). Night Safari first slot from 6pm — you must pick a time slot; trails and tram from 7pm, last tram 11.20pm (mandai.com). Bird Paradise presentations change — check the Mandai App. Avoid public holidays. Don't add a third park, and don't treat the boardwalk as a cooldown after Night Safari — it is closed.

- On-site food is adequate, not a reason to go — Dining Alley at EAST has the better chain options. Mama Panda Kitchen at River Wonders is the panda-pau stop if you are already inside (mandai.com)
- Penguin Cove Restaurant at Bird Paradise, 11am–5.30pm last order 5pm, if WEST is already the park (mandai.com)
- Breakfast in the Wild at the Zoo if you booked it (9–10.30am)

Can I do Zoo and Night Safari in one day?

How do I get there without a taxi?
Khatib MRT Exit A, M2 bus, $2.50, contactless tap. First bus 8.30am so you will not make Zoo opening unless you taxi. Last bus from Khatib 11.40pm; last from Mandai EAST midnight. Between EAST and WEST, tell the captain — that hop is free.
Are wild animals guaranteed?
This is a zoo, not a safari camp. You'll see animals. Dawn gives you the best versions of them.
What about Exploria or Curiosity Cove?
Extra Mandai tickets, not a reason to add a third park. Exploria is the indoor multimedia ticket. Curiosity Cove is the under-12s playscape (timed session). Both are on Mandai's buy page. Zoo + Night Safari, or Rainforest Wild, or Bird Paradise — pick the pair, not the catalogue.
River Wonders hours — and is the boat running?
Daily 9am–6pm, last entry 5pm (mandai.com). Amazon River Quest is closed 31 August–30 September 2026; Mekong and Yangtze exhibits are partially closed. House of Kai Kai & Jia Jia is closed 14 September–30 November 2026; pandas stay at Pavilion Capital Giant Panda Forest with the entrance relocated beside the current door, and a temporary Panda Shop pop-up inside runs 8.45am–6pm (mandai.com/en/announcements). Once Upon a River needs a seat booked from two hours before. Mama Panda Kitchen is the on-site pau if you are already inside. Do not add it to Zoo + Night Safari.
Bird Paradise or the Zoo?
Zoo if you can only pick one (8.30am–6pm, EAST). Bird Paradise if you want walk-through aviaries — 17 hectares, eight biomes, 9am–6pm last entry 5pm, WEST (mandai.com). They are a free M1 hop apart, and stacking them is a full daylight slog. Night Safari is the evening, not a third daylight park. Penguin Cove Restaurant is 11am–5.30pm if you are already inside WEST.
Is Mandai Boardwalk a park ticket?
No. It is a free 3.3 km public boardwalk, daily 7am–7pm, last entry 6pm, about 70–85 minutes (mandai.com/en/mandai-boardwalk). Kingfisher's Cave via EAST; Tree Frog's Hangout left of River Wonders.
