Step-free things to do in Singapore

These places are described as wheelchair accessible by the people who run them. That covers a long run of parks, from Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park to West Coast Park and the Botanic Gardens, and a handful of museums and galleries where every gallery can be reached by wheelchair.

Parks do most of the work here, and most are free. Museums and galleries add a wet-weather option, with lifts between floors, and several lend a manual wheelchair at the counter. Pick a park for a long, flat morning and a museum for the afternoon.

Our pick

The Peranakan Museum is our pick for a first step-free afternoon. Every gallery can be reached by lift, wheelchairs and standard-size strollers fit in all of them, and a manual wheelchair can be borrowed at the visitor counter. Visitors pay S$12, and it stays open until 9pm on Fridays.

For the outdoors, Singapore Botanic Gardens call the whole garden wheelchair friendly, and entry is free. Singapore Botanic Gardens
